How I lost 125 lb on Wegovy then Zepbound

“It wasn’t peaches and cream — and the second chapter still counted.”

Twaun starts near 394 lb with scary blood pressure and family heart history on her mind. If you’re carrying health fear and a long history of diets that didn’t stick, her path — Wegovy, then a slower Zepbound chapter — may help you see that switches and stall weeks can still be part of progress.

Not medical advice. Lived experience for learning and encouragement. Decisions about medication belong with a licensed clinician. Creator paths are not protocols or endorsements.

Phase

Considering

She was tired of obesity and hypertension. A coworker on Mounjaro planted the idea; appointments got cancelled and rescheduled in her head before she followed through. Insurance covering Wegovy fully made starting feel possible in her telling.

Phase

Starting

Her provider suggested a weekend start for side effects; she began midweek anyway and kept notes. Walking and gym cycles before meds hadn’t stuck — medication became the tool that helped her stay in the fight.

Phase

Stalls on Wegovy

Wegovy wasn’t a straight line. She finished that chapter around −95 lb, with weeks that felt frustrating mixed in. That honesty is useful if highlight reels make you think every week should drop.

Phase

Zepbound second chapter

From December 2024 she moved to Zepbound and kept losing — roughly another 30 lb toward about 125 lb total by the time she filmed. Walks and gym were a learning curve. She talks about kindness to yourself and showing up for community (her Thursday lives).

Questions for a clinician

  • Given my blood pressure and history, is a GLP-1 appropriate for me?
  • When early weeks stall, how should we respond?
  • If we switch medications, what pace and monitoring should I expect?
